ABOUT US
We are The Curious Society, and we believe in the power of photojournalism.
Our mission is to help aspiring photojournalists produce publication-worthy images that will enable them to earn a decent living from their work.
Our vision is to bear witness, encourage truth, and foster understanding.
Publications, whether traditional or digital, are visual mediums, and effective journalism cannot function without photojournalism. To address this need, The Curious Society is launching an educational program targeted at high schools, community colleges, and county extension offices. This program is designed to equip future photojournalists with the skills necessary to serve local news outlets—and it is offered free of charge.
The next generation of photojournalists will emerge from our communities.
In addition to building a team of vetted photojournalists, we are also establishing a distribution network to ensure their images reach the editors who need them, at an affordable price.
Journalism needs photojournalism, photojournalists need an audience, and a healthy nation needs a vibrant press.
